Open to all.
Have a positive mindset. Own a good pair of hiking shoes. Be creative and down to earth.
Be fit and relatively healthy, but no need to train for the Olympics. Everybody can do it. It's all about your attitude.
We made the Donkey Trek accessible and affordable to all (30% cheaper than any trekking agencies). However, in order to participate to the trip and allow us to have a strong impact on local communities, each donkey is encouraged to raise money among his friends, family and community.
Our aim is to trek in beautiful nature and challenge ourselves mentally and physically while impacting the lives of others.
We focus on education and art for children in the mountains of Nepal. We use the funds raised by the trek participants to purchase and transport art supplies. As we trek on the mountain trails, we organize art workshops in local schools and orphanages.
We all remember the Nepal earthquake. One of the most over looked aspects of healing is laughter. In the wake of trauma following the earth quakes, the focus was placed mainly on feeding and clothing and providing shelter for the community, but often times their smiles were forgotten. Many children in Nepal are still living with trauma after the earthquake, and our aim with this art project is to revive the spirits and bring back the laughs.
Through art making, colouring, painting, creating, children will develop important skills such as focus, problem solving, collaboration, and perseverance.
Finally, art could also become a source of healthy revenues for those communities; with thousands of hikers walking each year on those trails, the children will have an excellent audience to market and sell their artworks and hand-painted postal cards.
Art Always Wins.
